Chapada dos Veadeiros is the right destination for those looking for days of rest, intense contact with nature and little complications. In the middle of the savannah of the state of Goiás, Chapada dos Veadeiros is a paradise surrounded by waterfalls and canyons, where the force of the waterfalls presents travelers with invigorating baths of energy. The region became more coveted among tourists after the blue waters of Cachoeira Santa Bárbara began to illustrate many photos on social media.

Brasília is the city with the closest airport for those who are in other states, as there are no airports in the surroundings of Chapada dos Veadeiros. From Brasília International Airport, it will be easy to rent a car to take the road to Chapada dos Veadeiros or take a bus to Alto Paraíso de Goiás. From Alto Paraíso, it will be another 36 km to the village of São Jorge and 90 km to Cavalcante. Another option for an airport, which is no longer so close, is the Goiânia Airport, located 425 km from Alto Paraíso and via land through Brasília. We can say that a car will be very useful in Chapada dos Veadeiros to reach the main waterfalls on the route. Therefore, this is the best way to travel to Chapada dos Veadeiros.

To help you discover another destination in Brazil, we prepared a special post full of tips, waterfalls, inns and everything to do in Chapada dos Veadeiros.

The Chapada dos Veadeiros waterfalls are the great attractions of the region and each one is special. There are waterfalls over 100 meters high and others that fall in endless sequences. There are waterfalls with incredible wells in shades of light blue and others with intense emerald green. It even has a waterfall with wells that look like extraterrestrials or, to be more exact, out of the moon. Visiting all of them in the same trip is an impossible task. The important thing is not to give up an invigorating bath and enjoy every minute.

the Canyons Trail is very pleasing to tourists looking for breathtaking landscapes. Part of Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park and with a total journey of 12 km (round trip), the Canyons Trail has as main attractions Canyon II and Cachoeira das Cariocas. The trail, in spite of being long, does not have great slopes and can be easily traversed by visitors without great physical preparation.
The view of the savannah along the tour helps to pass the time and every minute in the midst of nature will be a great gift. During the trail it will be possible to enjoy the view and take a good bath in the great well of Canyon II and also delight in the countless waterfalls of Cachoeira Carioquinhas. Along the way, there are several stops for bathing in natural pools, the best of which is a delightful little beach with a transparent pool, wooden decks and plenty of sun to warm up your body. The trail is well signposted, almost all in a shady forest with few slopes. There are ropes that help the passage through the rivers and arrows that indicate the way to the final stop, where the waterfall is.

Tip! To better enjoy the waterfall with its intense blue water, try to take the tour at midday, when the sun hits the water directly. Stay tuned for visitation time, which on busy days is limited to 1h per group. If traveling in high season, give preference to early morning, when it is quieter.
