Litlefjell - a short hike with a nice view

This trip is perfect if you want a pit stop, with a view - short enough so you can bring the kids too.

Just keep an eye on them, it's a long way down..

Its a short 0,8km hike, 20-30 minutes from the car, when you're at the top you have a great view of Trollveggen on the opposite side (as seen in the photo below), Romsdalshorn, Romsdalseggen and Åndalsnes.

It's a popular hike for families, since even little kids can manage this short distance.

In the photo below we went a little further up from the "top" and got an even better view. To the left you can see Romsdalseggen, its a popular hike going from the parking just before Litlefjell up and along the top of Romsdalseggen to Nesaksla on the other side. There you can also descend to Rampestreken to enjoy another great view, or eat and drink at Eggen restaurant and bar (as seen in the link to Rampestreken).

To go back down you can either walk back the way you came, go down to Rampestreken and down the trail from there or take the skylift from Eggen restaurant down to the docks.

The view is great on both sides, in the photo below you can see the road where you can park and start going up to Litlefjell. In the opposite end of the small lake is the parking and starting point of Romsdalseggen hike mentioned above.

There are so many hikes in and around Åndalsnes, that you can keep coming back year after year and not have to go the same one twice.

Other things worth checking out in the region are Rampestreken, Trollstigen, Geiranger, Loen skylift

If you want a harder hike, check out Stabbeskaret, where you go to the top of Trollveggen, the famous 1431m high vertical wall. It's a challenging hike, and a guide is recommended, along with enough water, food and good hiking gear. I went there a couple years back, i'll make a story about it another day.
