Anchieta

If you appreciate quiet places with a great structure, you will love visiting the city of Anchieta. Very close to the capital Vitória, the place concentrates several hotels, restaurants, shops and, of course, beautiful beaches.

There are almost 30 kilometers of coastline and there are plenty of options for those who want clean water, soft sand and a lot of peace. Praia de Castelhanos has a great structure and, as a bonus, a sea with natural pools that form in the middle of the rocks.

On the other hand, Ubu beach, although less popular and with a more rustic structure, is a bucolic and very beautiful place that will leave stressful days far away. In addition, the sea is calm and kayaks are available for rent, a good tip is to explore the waters on board.

The city, for those who don't know, was the home of Father José de Anchieta and, for those who want to know more about his life, the Anchieta Museum presents antique furniture, archaeological pieces, among other objects. The museum is attached to the Igreja Matriz de Nossa Senhora da Assunção, one of the oldest churches in Brazil.

Marataízes

Since the subject is beautiful beaches, Marataízes could not be left out of this list of the best cities to visit in Espírito Santo, after all, there are more than 25 kilometers of coastline to enjoy. Just over two hours from Vitória, the city is one of the favorites to enjoy with the family, as its beaches are calm, clean and safe. The beaches of Cações, Boa Vista and Marobá are exactly like that and, for this very reason, are very popular with those with children.

But don't think that the beaches of Marataízes cannot surprise you. This is the case of Praia das Falésias which, as its name implies, has immense rocky walls that reach up to 40 meters in height and make the look quite peculiar – in fact, great for showing off good photos, see?

For those who don't like the beach, that's fine: have you ever thought about visiting a lagoon? Tourists usually have fun in kayaks and pedal boats that can be rented at Lagoa do Siri, which is usually crowded during high season.

Itaúnas

A true paradise with an unpretentious atmosphere, this is how we can describe Itaúnas. Located on the border between Espírito Santo and Bahia, the city and its rusticity are reminiscent of the famous Jericoacoara, in Ceará. That's why she couldn't be left out of this list of the best cities to visit in Espírito Santo.

Despite the atmosphere of simplicity, there is a great treasure that surrounds the charming village: the dunes of Parque Estadual de Itaúnas. Some huge mounds of sand can reach up to 30 meters and you have to cross them to get to the beach.

The walk takes about 15 minutes, but the view makes up for it a lot – especially at sunset. In addition to the beach and dunes, the park has archaeological sites with chipped stones and various indigenous artifacts. In the village, forró goes on until dawn and those who visit the place in July can participate in the lively National Festival of Forró de Itaúnas, always with no time to end.

Guarapari

Guarapari has more than 50. From the most remote to the most popular, from the calmest to the busiest, one thing is certain: they are all beautiful. Just 60 kilometers from Vitória, the city is much sought after as a vacation retreat and, therefore, has an excellent structure to meet even the most demanding tourists. This includes, of course, the gastronomy – this is where you can taste a delicious moqueca capixaba, especially in a restaurant on Praia de Meaípe (which was once considered one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in Brazil, so enjoy).

Praia dos Padres is also one of the most beautiful in the state, and in addition to white sand, a calm and very peaceful sea, you can rest under the shade of one of the many cashew trees that are scattered there. However, if you want to party, Bacutia Beach brings together many lively young people. It is a beach with a boardwalk and luxurious buildings along its shore, but without losing its beauty.

Vitória

A capital located between the sea and the mountains, where it is possible to catch the sun and enjoy the mountain cold in the same day. This is Vitória, or “Vix”, as she is called by the natives. With a tropical climate all year round, it concentrates several islands, beaches and parks, in addition to many historical sites. Not to mention the gastronomy, as there are several restaurant options that deliver the delicious and original moqueca capixaba. It goes without saying that Vitória is, without a doubt, one of the best cities to visit in Espírito Santo.

Among the unmissable beaches to visit is Praia de Camburi, where there is a very pleasant shore where people walk and play sports. With luck, it is possible to see several turtles that swim there. An island tip to visit is Ilha do Boi, where Praia da Esquerda and Praia da Direita are located, which have a lot of infrastructure and popular places on the sand strip.

Don't forget to walk through Praça dos Namorados, in Praia do Canto, which hosts a handicraft fair on the weekends, in addition to offering some activities and events. A nice place to enjoy the night is an area known as Triângulo, also in Praia do Canto. It is there that you can taste delicious dishes in charming environments in some of the best bars and restaurants in the city.

Vitória has a large hotel chain, with projects for all budgets and standards.

The waterfront region is certainly the most favorable to look for accommodation, due to the service facilities and proximity to the sea – for those who do not give up a beach and/or a beautiful view.

Hotels close to Praia do Canto (upscale, more expensive neighborhood) or Curva da Jurema (more affordable) are the best locations, but you can also get a lot of quality accommodation in Camburi.

Domingos Martins

If you are one of those people who loves a little chill, a hot chocolate and lots of nature, Domingos Martins is your place. The city is just 50 kilometers from Vitória, ideal for that weekend getaway. The municipality is part of the cities that make up the mountain region of Espírito Santo.

Colonized by German, Pomeranian and Italian immigrants, this culture is reflected to this day both in the cuisine, in the attractions and in the various charming festivals that take place throughout the year. How about a romantic train ride through the mountains? The Capixabas Mountains Train passes through the city, taking tourists to Viana, Marechal Floriano and Araguaia.

As if all that wasn't enough, there's more: nature is a valuable gift that Domingos Martins gives to visitors. The village of Pedra Azul belongs to the city and it is there that the famous stone that gives the place its name is located. The “blue” of the name comes from the sunlight that causes the immense rock formation to change color more than 35 times a day. In addition, there are several trails in the midst of the exuberant nature of the Pedra Azul State Park, an area of more than 1200 hectares.
