The Quest For Jarek

Chapter 1 The Dream

Ava had not had very many dreams lately, she had only had very deep sleep and she felt like she should be doing something but she didnt know what. She felt restless, unable to cope with how calm everything had become.

Then the nightmares began again, images of rivers of blood again and bodies, large towers engulfing the sky in black smoke. What was surprising was that she could smell the stench in her dreams of rotting corpses, the smell of death, like an animal on the side of the road.

Ava seemed to reason in her dreams why the surrounding area looked the way it did. The processing of the methane shot blue flames into the horizen, the motion of the flame moving so quickly that it made a loud whistling noise. The carbon fumes, built up over time had caused a steady prescence of black clouds to line the sky, streaks of red lightening flashing in the midst of the plumes.

Ava's first instinct was to run but she couldnt, she was drowning, consumed by some unseen force.

A clone of Ava stood on the river bank before her, taunting Ava. Avas clone had a knife to Jareks throat. Jarek was Ava's lover.

Ava felt her heart rate speed up but she couldnt move despite her greatest efforts. Avas clone slit Jareks throat, his blood spraying out in an awful torrent and it was at this point that Ava awoke.

She was inside of her room, her fist swinging at a phantom in the dark that could or could not be real.

I.M.I., the imbedded micro inteligence had been removed in hopes that the hallucinations would cease.

I.M.I. was a technology that lived within Ava, connecting tissue at a molecular level with an alien element gathered in a mysterous way. The way it was gathered was the question of what came first, the chicken or the egg. In order for one to have obtained the element it would have required the element itself to time travel.

The inventor, of the technology, Omir of Arabia had been dubbed as a lunatic by his peers back on his home planet, he was also ostrisized by society because of the technology he dreampt up sounded completely insane to the layman; his inventions were even dubbed crazy by the advanced scientist in the achedemic community back home in his land.

Ava did not tell anyone that she had adopted Omir, he was her secret weapon.

Ava looked down at Jarek, the two of them laid naked in bed, Avas pale skin gleemed in the blue moon that hung in the air which showed her naked spendor. Ava litup a clove cigarette, the smell of which he despised.

She hoped that he would awake to the scent, the truth was that she was quickly becoming bored with the routine of seeing him in her bed. Jarek was handsom, there was no doubt about that, he had a face that was grizzeled just right, the right amount of shadow always which sort of pissed Ava off. Always so damn perfect, fucking Jarek.

The dreams were starting to ware on her mind, leading to her subconcious where worry, fear and doubt were begining to manifest. She felt doom looming in on her like the moon that sat above her and she feared that Jarek would become a victim of her possible psycotic breakdown.

There were several explinations for her bad dreams. They may be caused by the spirit of Egregores, entities that were the manisfestation of peoples dreams however she could not prove this without I.M.I., who could be the cause of the mental collapse also. The cause and the cure.

There had been several nights where Ava had awoken on several occasions throughout the night. On some of these occasions she thought she could see the figure of a tall, stark figure in all black, not black clothing, more like a shadow of a being without the appearence of a physical body. Several nights she felt like she was being held down by some unknown entity.

Ava had a choice to make, which was either to stay in the current predicament, deal with the nightmares and face such an entity without any help or reinstal I.M.I. and possibly end up following some long rabit hole that would end in epic bloodshed.

Ava had made a pledge to live a peaceful life. The last mission that she had been on had lasted so long and had been so dangerous that she had put away all of her advanced technology.

During this pledge to peace she had finally met someone, his name was Jarek.

The two of them had started taking trips into places that were forbidden to everyone, Ava letting her guard down, showing Jarek these secrets.

The relationship blossomed into something much deeper than Ava had ever fathomed, before they knew it they were trying to have a child together.

The thought was both appealing and fearful to Ava, the latter because of all of the violence she had witnessed, the first because of the small ammount of joy.

Ava knew that she still had much more to accomplish, she could not stop until she found the magical lamp that was prophesized to entrap genies, genies that were manisfestations of these egregores. It was time to go see Omir..

Chapter 2
CHAPTER 2 Omir The Mad Scientist

Omir was in his lab tinkering with something new. He was looking for a way to transfer a beam of light from one location to another. The current test was only for a short distance, to bring light to dark planets so that they may be explored.

Omir enjoyed working on a number of projects simultaneously, he found himself getting bored easily when he only worked on one project at a time.

The second purpose of the current project was also an attempt to transform planets of light into something tangible. It had been dubbed project Y.A.M.A.

Omir looked into the mirror, his disfigured face was sweating profusely, his eyes had sunken into the back of his head, he looked like he hadnt slept in over a year, the stress so overwhelming he actually began to believe that it could have been a year.

Ava, a huge health fanatic aside from her occasional clove cigarette warned him that he would one day pay for his poor health choices which included bad food, alcohol, stimulates and pornography.

The drug that he used the most, Narpa, to recieve his channeled messages was running low, not just on the planet Reath but on the planet that they gathered it from. He had been attempting to duplicate the substance but had not managed to even map the original gene sequence. The drug that he used was becoming scarce.

Ava had removed I.M.I. so he was becoming increasingly concered over his predicamate, who else would he ever convince to drink the foreighn substance that would then attach itself to her R.N.A. to manifest an artificial D.N.A. into a suit made of advanced micro technology? He was going to have to convice Ava of going to gather the material neccesaey for him to manufacture the substance.

Omirs personal library contained textbooks that were banned from the eyes of society, they were not only banned but they were illegal, any normal citizen caught with this literature would be horribly executed.

"Ok, here we go Scabard!"

Scabard was a grabbit, a gerble slash rabbit, a combination of furious fury. Ava always wondered why he didnt just test new substances out on Scabard, the idea had appaled him, when she mentioned it, the thought of loosing Scabard was unbearable.

Ava arrived into the lab just as Omir was performing an experiment.

He had on his lab table two large mirrors made from the sand of various planets. The problem he faced was molding the sands into a viable lense that could both withstand the intensity of the laser and would be clear enough to transfer the beam of light.

The experiment had been unsuccesful, the light became to fractured and he feared that there was nothing hot enough to melt the substance so that it could be used tangibily.

Omir began to curse, ducking underneath the laser that scathed Scabbards fur, she managed to light her cigarette from the beam, so the experiment had not beem a complete waste.

Every curse word from every known planet ensued from Omir as he picked up Scabared and caressed him gently, his fur still smoking.

"Perhaps an animal sacrifice is in order" Ava said.

Ava was frustrated to see the experiment failing, she expected for this to be finished. Ava needed answers as to why the Evregores were appearing. As usual Omir began to speak outloud on what went wrong with the experiment.

"The problem is that the lens begins to decomposs upon its arrival to the planet, so it either gets waisted or I use it."

Omir was from Arabia, pre-islamic, a time of great magic, it was something of a miricle him arriving to this planet.

Ava looked at him skeptically, despite his inteligence Omir was also a drug addict, sometimes he attempted to convince Ava to go get his dope for him. After examining his facial expressions along with his body language she concluded that he was telling the truth. Omir had tried lying before but he was bad at it.

If anyone were to meet Ava without knowing her they would say that she had schizophrenia, she still had residue from the time travelling. She had post traumatic stress disorder from the residue along with a life full of combat and time travel combinded with several failed relationship attempts. I.M.I. would appear to her as Ava wanted her to appear, which was another Ava. Omir said this was to keep her from getting confused. Now she was starting to see I.M.I. in different forms, something that she had not told Omir about.

She would also begin to curse at him for what appeared to be no reason, Omir thought that it had been the effects of traveling through other dimensions. The current way they travelled however depended on the allighnment of the planets, if the proper allighnment was not available, then there would be no inter dimension travel.

"Go ahead, do it, slit her throat", it was Avas imaginary evil twin, running her finger along her throat to signify cutting the Omirs throat.

"Ava are you listening to me?"

Omir was staring at her intently, he had been trying to explain to her that there was a planetary allighnment approaching that could get her to a planet close to the one that was going to have the proper material, he was then explaining a chemical compound that could be gained from the first planet to combine with the element from the second planet so that they could get a fire that would burn hot enough to melt the sand into the glass they needed.

"Sounds to me like he wants you to steal fire from the Gods" came Ava's twin. Avas evil twin began to go on about how worthless Omir was, there wasnt anything that he could do that the two of them couldnt do by themselves.

"Ava, Ava are you listening to me?"

Omir was disevelled, he had lost alot of weight and the human side of Ava had begun to feel sorry for him. She asked him how long he had been locked away in this god forsaken hell hole but in truth he was addicted to his work.

Having familarized himself with history text books Omir began to ramble on about Arabia in Islamic times, how bad it had been, how thankful he was for having access to all of the material he had.

Ava began to spaceout again, she was wondering why she couldnt have someone sexier for a mad scientist. She tried to visualise her and him together but it just wouldnt happen in her mind.

"Omir, do you ever think of woman?"

He asked her what he meant. Ava's eye began to twitch, for someone so smart he asked the stupidest fucking questions.

"Woman Omir, sex, fucking, do you ever think about fucking Omir?"

He blushed profusely, cold chills erupted all over his skin and he began to sweat suddenly.

"Unless" Ava lit a clove cigarette, she spelled the word "gay" in the air. "I never assumed you to be gay Omir" Ava said, pointing accusingly at Omir, the cigarette between her middle and index finger.

Omir began to studder immideately, defending the degree of his machoism by beating on his chest.

"I mean if you are its ok, I just never considered it before."

Ava then asked if he masterbated down here and if so what did he think of when he did it. He assured her that he did not masterbate down here but his face told another story.

"Oh no?" Ava asked, "then what are these for" she asked, clutching a box of tissue. "You go through alot of these."

Omir blushed, he did not like discussing such matters with Ava but it seemed like she thrived on these types of uncomfortable situations.

Omir had indeed once upon a time been married, he had a wife along with a child, one out of the two still alive. He did not like Ava asking him about his family, he intended to keep them protected which meant keeping thier whereabouts unknown.

Chapter 3
Chapter 3 Fucking Jarek

Jarek knew that he had to do something to leave the planet, soon he would begin to transmute. This became evident when his skin began to itch from the hair growing.

Most people thought that werewolves transmuted immediately however this was not the case anymore. There had been an evolution of sorts for werwolves to overcome the maddness that they felt by a full moon, now they were able to transmute when they chose to do to evolution and a formula.

Jarek knew that Ava had access to secret information, a lab and quite possibly even had someone inventing technology for her. This is why Jarek was sent here, he was sent to retrieve the technology so that he could defeat the army that was laying siege upon his land.

Jarek went into the restroom, he undressed and began to shave with a sharp rock. The blade was made of Obsidian, it gleamed a beautiful black umongst the fire place. He said an incantation as he cut his hand, blood dripping into the fire.

Jarek stepped over to a window, in the distance he could makeout a tall gnarled figure with lean muscles, one arm was longer than the other. The figure was blindfolded, the sun setting behind it poured color through him, the figures finger pointed at the sun as it tavelled along the sky at an abnormal pace.

The hair along Jareks legs grew suddenly, he had to take the formula to stop the transmutation which seemed out of sequence on this planet.

The blade suddenly slipped along Jareks leg, slicing deeply enough to cause him to feel woozy.

Blood gushed out onto the floor, the figure outside screeched wildly before making its way towards the window to tell him that Ava was going to come in to finish the job.

"The seed you planted into her will be your ruin."

The gnalrled figure stood at the window before it spoke.

"The seed", the words rung a bell in his head, he had not intended to get her pregnant. He had to know if it was true or not, the ghastly figure outside pointed up towards the sky once again, the sun dripping blood onto the ground that sprung up into plant life. The sun split open like an egg, spilling crimson drops onto the ground.

The blood continued to spill out onto the floor, from Jareks leg, it was at this moment that Jarek had to make a decision. He could lay here to bleed out, dooming his home planet to its fate, miserably failing his mission because of a shaving accident like a moron, or he could force a transmuntation that would completely blow his cover. He could hear the murmors back at home already.

"Did you hear, Jarek bled to death by his own hand?"

This was the last thought that he heard before passing out..

Chapter 4 Back To Jarek

Ava was looking forward to getting back home to Jarek, she had not met anyone like him before but she was starting to suspect that there was alternative motives behind his interest in her. Despite the fact that she was a smoking hot badass with the best technology in any galaxy she was cauteous that there were those in the universe who would be interested in obtaining the key to Ava's technology.
The words that Ava dreaded hearing ensued from Omirs mouth.
"I made some upgrades" Omir said. The two stood in one of the training rooms. Omir was always anxious to show the improvements he made to I.M.I., one of which was not making I.M.I. to talk less.
I.M.I. had a habit of talking to much at the worst moments, often over speaking when things were getting tough.
Omir had created the voice of I.M.I. into the voice of a woman upon Avas request. Ava did not like the idea of a man telling her what to do.
"Ok Omir, tell me what you did this time, I dont need any surprises."
"Ava, I changed the type of energy that gets transmuted through the kinetic force."
Ava had problems with the energy getting dispelled in ways that were not conducive to saving energy. The suit, over time was requiring more energy to do the same attacks. There had also been instances where the energy had dispelled through a weak path in the suit. Ava told Omir about the dreams thinking that this could help him to better equip her.
"Ava, what you described sounds like it is an Egregore, an entity created by a group of people to carry out the groups intent.
Omir decided what galaxy to send Ava to based on the current planetary allighnment, certain however there is no telling what is awaiting for you on this planet. I have recieved tansmissions that the planet is full of iron in the sky.
Ava thought about the nightmares, the castle in the sky, the blood that drenched her.
Omir had recieved signals that there was an attack on a planet that required her attention.
Ava was not looking forward to explaining to

Jarek the reason behind her having to vanish all of the sudden.
What amazed Ava was that not matter how many insane missions that she went on it never was easy lying to someone that she had began to get close to.

Chapter 5 Jarek Is Dead

Ava arrived back home, stepping into the bedroom, she was greeted with a familar scent, the smell of iron, the scent of blood.
Jarek was lying on the ground, a thick pool of blood had built a mote around his body. The carnage seemed to attract a type of disembodied naga which was different from the entity that haunted her dreams.
The creature had very likely already been in the room for some time, feeding off of their sexual energy. This one had tired of waiting in order to manifest into a palable being, sensing that Jarek was able to feed it the Naga made its move.
The Naga that stood before Ava was of Jarek,
created in his image by way of some awful magic she did not currently comprehend.
Screaming filled the air, it sounded like a banshee was being gang raped, whatever was happening to Jareks disembodied spirit it seemed to cause alot of pain.
The transmutation that took place before Ava was horrid as Jareks body became reanimated.
Jareks skin began to bubble with ghastly soars that spilled blood madeup of a chemical that transmuted into a noxious gas.
"Ava, this creature is at this moment unlike anything I have encountered."
I.M.I. was able to pickup on biometric readings of anything with an atomic structure.
Ava's pussy began to throb, she was being turned on by her lover being transmuted into this horrid specticle right before her very eyes.
"You know Jarek, aside from the sores on your skin and the putrid fog enamating from your body I could really start to get into this."
Ava pulled her rapier from her scabbard, then came the vision, the same vision that Jarek had of the egg.
A loud ringing noise ensued that nearly brought Ava to her knees, Jarek taking advantage of the situation delivered a roundhouse kick to her chest, sending her flying into the wall, beautiful blood cascading from her mouth to feed the beast.
Ava's suit should have soaked up a significate ammount of energy from this. Ava would have been able to use this energy in a number of ways. She could open up a rift to travel through time, she could ask that the creatures material data be analized or she could save it.
Despite the severity of the blow Avas suit had not managed to collect any energy. This was a crippling discovery, i
