Bali

Bali is the most popular and famous of its islands in Indonesia. Even though it is crowded in high season, they have beauties that showcase this crowd. As the Island of the Gods, it also has crazy landscapes, incredible beaches, and an intriguing Hindu entertainment option. The most popular part of the island is Ubud. While in Bali, you can explore Hindu temples, hike the foothills of Mount Batur, or see traditional rice terraces still cultivated by locals. If there's one outdoor sport you can imagine, it's probably available in Bali. Surfing, canoeing, fishing, yoga and diving are just a few of the countless fun you can enjoy on the large and scenic island of Bali.

Raja Ampat Islands

The Raja Ampat Islands are located in the Papua region of Indonesia. Although there are more than 600 individual islands that make up the Raja Ampat, the four main islands are Waigeo, Misoo, Bantanta, and Salawati. These islands are known for their biodiversity, making it a top destination for scuba divers, snorkelers, and bird watchers. You can spot rare birds like Cendrawasih and Wilson Birds of Paradise at Raja Ampat. These islands are also home to magnificent beaches with shallow blue waters and fine white sand.

Gili Islands

One of Indonesia's most popular tourist destinations is what is known as the Gili Islands, located just off the coast of Lombok. The Gili Islands, once frequented only by backpacker hippies, are now one of the country's popular tourist destinations. Gili Trawangan, the largest of the Gili Islands, is one of the most beautiful places for scuba diving, yoga and surfing. The island of Meno is known as the most romantic island of the region and is popular with honeymooners.

Bunaken

The home base for those wishing to explore the Bunaken National Marine Park at the northeastern tip of Sulawesi, Bunaken is home to 70 percent of all fish species in the Indo-West Pacific Ocean. In general, dive spots are geared towards advanced divers with strong swimming skills.

Wakatobi Islands

In the southeast corner of Indonesia is Sulawesi Tenggara Province, which is home to the Wakatobi Islands. This small archipelago is especially famous for its diving spots. The Wakatobi Islands are considered one of the best diving spots in all of Indonesia, but are much less crowded than some other tourist destinations. Many of the local resorts and hotels cater directly to divers.
