A destination that is known for sustainable tourism and for being the ecological capital of diving. Discover Bombinhas, a little piece of Santa Catarina, which brings together breathtaking paradise beaches. Embark on breathtaking landscapes that invite visitors to relax and have fun.

On the north-central coast of Santa Catarina is the smallest municipality in extension of the state. However, it guards incredible beaches and scenery. The peninsula is close to Florianópolis (75 km), Balneário Camboriú (40 km) and Penha (65 km).

How to get there:

Landing at Navegantes airport (60 km) can be a good option, but as it has few flight options, Florianópolis airport is the most popular. Access is via the BR-101, a very busy highway, especially in high season.

There is the option to go by car, being a great option for family trips. If you prefer, you can also take the bus or hire a driver from the racing app of your choice. It all depends on your traveler profile and how your income is at the moment.

Once in the city, you won't find it difficult to get around. A curiosity that facilitates the movement there is that all the streets of Bombinhas have names of animals, plants and beings of nature. Cool huh?

For the more adventurous, the Morro do Macaco Trail is located on Canto Grande Beach, in the Morro do Macaco Municipal Park. You will find this moderate trail, with 1700 m round trip. And at the top of the hill, you will have an incredible 360° view of Bombinhas. Still in the Morro do Macaco Municipal Park, you can do the Mullet Trail, with 5 km round trip.

And if you are a beginner, the Zimbros Trail, which is on the Zimbros Coastal Trail, is a good proposal. Here, you will coast along the sea, passing by about 10 deserted beaches, such as Cardoso, Triste and Vermelha. The distance is 4.5 km round trip. The last option is the Quatro Ilhas Trail, which is located on the beach of the same name. In it, you can take a trail of only 500 m with many natural viewpoints along the way and incredible views of Quatro Ilhas beach and Mariscal.

At the 360° viewpoint at Morro do Macaco, you can take a 240 m zipline with an incredible view of the sea and beaches. The price varies around R$55, but is subject to change. For the more adventurous, this activity cannot be missed.

Bombinhas is internationally known as the ecological diving capital. So be sure to dive into the crystal clear waters to see the aquatic fauna and flora. The best option is to hire agencies that carry out tours through specific points, and the main offices of the agencies that make the journey are at Praia de Bombinhas. Remember that it is ideal to book in advance and prices vary around $30 dollars per person, but it is always good to get in touch for updated prices.

Hop aboard a safari-like vehicle and take a tour of Bombas, Bombinhas, Conceição, Canto Grande, Morrinhos, Zimbros, Quatro Ilhas and Mariscal beaches. On the last two beaches you will still have the chance to make stops. The tour lasts 2 hours and 30 minutes and the price is around $ 15 dollars per person. However, it is always good to check information with the tour director.

Take exciting walks along deserted beaches with incredible views. You will pass by Baía de Zimbros, Praia de Mariscal, the 360° viewpoint and Praia da Tainha. This is a great option to get to know several places, but without wasting too much time.

As soon as you arrive in the city, you will be welcomed by Praia de Bombas, with a 2 km stretch of sand. The highlight is the Calçadão de Bombas, a path parallel to the sand for walking and cycling. Bombinhas, on the other hand, is 1.2 km long. These two paradises have blue sea water and white sand due to the high concentration of quartz crystals. They are also destinations with a lot of shopping, restaurants and movement, especially in high season.

The strip of sand invites everyone to relax and unwind. Because it's more residential, you won't find much commerce there. On the left side, the waters are calmer and, on the right side, busier and ideal for surfers. When you're there, visit Praça Mirante das Ilhas and enjoy an incredible view of the sea.

The region is an example of sustainable tourism and, therefore, there is inspection on the beaches, especially those certified with the blue flag. The ideal is not to take pets to the sand and remember that the use of sound boxes is prohibited. Boats near the shore are allowed between 9 am and 7 pm and leaflet distribution is also prohibited. In addition to these basic rules, here are other tips:

Fee to enter Bombinhas: in order to reduce the impacts caused during the high season, the city hall decided to charge a fee at the entrance to the city. This rate is valid between November and April. When you drive your vehicle through the Bombinhas portal, radars will register your license plate to charge you. Payment must be made at some stations in the city or by app.

When to go: in high season the city is very busy and you will need to fight for a place on the beach and in restaurants. From the second half of March, the movement decreases. Therefore, the best months are April, May, September, October and November. However, depending on the year, you may find rain during these periods;

Blue Flag: Bombinhas is the Brazilian city that has the most beaches awarded with the Blue Flag certificate, which recognizes destinations that are concerned with the sustainable development of the region. The beaches of Quatro Ilhas, Mariscal and Conceição are the ones that have already received this title;

Traffic and parking: Bombinhas is the smallest municipality in Santa Catarina, with narrow streets and, because of the high number of visitors, there are traffic jams inside the city, especially in high season. You can already imagine that there are not so many spaces for vehicles, right? Although most beaches have public parking, you may find it difficult to find a spot.

The entrance fee is charged with the objective of creating awareness among tourists, so that they can protect the environment. Therefore, when you are visiting the place, dispose of the garbage properly, try to use sunscreens without chemicals that harm the aquatic environment and respect the animals in their habitat.

Have fun!
