Salar de Uyuni is known as the largest salt flat in the world. The most extreme temperatures are felt when the sun is not present, during the day temperatures are better, so the tip of dressing in layers and taking off or putting on clothes as you feel hot or cold is applicable here.

Winter is the dry season, very cold, when you will see the mountains and volcanoes along the tour covered by snow. In winter, as the salt flats are very dry, geometric figures form in the salt. Summer, on the other hand, is the rainy season, when the cold is not so latent and it is hot - traveling in this period, the great expectation is to find the Salar de Uyuni flooded. Thus, the salt desert is covered by a layer of water, something very similar to a mirror that reflects the sky.

Please note, however, that depending on the amount of water in the salar, the route of your tour may change and it may not be possible to cross it with your vehicle. Therefore, it is said that a good time to travel is after the rainy season, at the end of summer. Snow, ice and rain may require a change to the itinerary, for the safety of travelers.
