Lisbon - Portugal
To help you choose where to travel, today we gonna show you how amazing Lisbon is.
a great and ancient capital filled with natural beauties, in addition to having a great gastronomy and good wine.
Definitely, an ideal destination for those looking for fun, tranquility and natural beauty.
Old and well-preserved cobblestone pavements, corner bakeries that exude an aroma of freshly baked bread, busy streets and shops and lots of good people communicating in "good old" Portuguese, something that makes it even easier for us Brazilians to stay in City.
And as in most European countries, the local currency is the Euro, but the difference is that tourism in Lisbon - and in the rest of the country - is much cheaper compared to other European capitals.
Proof of this is that with 10 or 15 euros, for example, it is possible to have a nice meal in a restaurant or tavern in the city, which would be impossible in destinations like Paris and London. What's more, admission to the main attractions and public transport are also not the most expensive on the continent.
in the portuguese capital, the attractions mix history with incredible landscapes, the streets are colorful and full of life, the viewpoints offer rest with breathtaking views, public transport works with quality and connects the main tourist attractions, not to mention the delicious dishes based on seafood, cheeses, sausages and the famous Portuguese wines. Lisbon has the look of those well-enjoyed holidays – with a trip to the mountain region to see castles and palaces and another to the coast to enjoy life by the sea. Want better?
In a single visit, it is always difficult to discover all that a city has to offer. But with knowledge of the attractions offered and planning, it is possible to create an itinerary that includes the places that most arouse your interest. With three days in Lisbon, you can already get an idea of the city and visit some of its most important points, but we suggest a stay of at least four days, enough to get to know the main regions of the Portuguese capital.
For the end of the day, there is no better program than enjoying the light of Lisbon at sunset. Enjoy the various viewpoints that the city offers, such as São Jorge Castle, Portas do Sol, Santa Luzia Viewpoint, Graça Viewpoint, Nossa Senhora do Monte Viewpoint, São Pedro de Alcântara Viewpoint and Santa Catarina Viewpoint. Or go to the banks of the Tagus, in the region between Praça do Comércio and Mercado da Ribeira, where the pleasant Kiosque Ribeira das Naus is located.
And when the sun goes down, the bars and restaurants located on the terraces of Lisbon take their place, in addition to the busy streets of Bairro Alto, Príncipe Real and the nearby Rua Rosa, in Cais do Sodré. For an authentic Lisbon experience, attend a fado night in Alfama or Bairro Alto (Tasca do Chico is a great option), where tourists and locals share the space and bohemia.
Lisbon is one of the most visited destinations in Europe, and have a wide network of hotels. Don't forget to use Bitbook.net to find the best deals and of course to get the cashback that is always rewarded for those who book with Bitbook.net.
Distances are not a big problem in the Portuguese capital. In addition to not being so extensive territorially, the city is well connected with subway lines, buses and also electric cable cars – those little yellow ones that stamp the postcards of the destination. Therefore, you can save money by staying a little further away from the historic center without spending so much time commuting. Just make sure your accommodation is close to metro stations, bus or tram that connect the most visited areas.
If you want to do almost everything on foot, prioritize the neighborhoods Baixa, Chiado, Cais do Sodré and the beginning of Avenida da Liberdade. Bairro Alto and Príncipe Real are also well located, but they are in a higher part of the city, so you will have to face some slopes.
For more spacious rooms, in more modern buildings, with the possibility of parking, prefer hotels along Avenida da Liberdade and the Marquês do Pombal roundabout.
To save money without wasting too much time on travel: just under half an hour by subway from the Historic Center, the regions of Saldanha, Campolide and Avenidas Novas have better value for money accommodations.
Close to the airport: stay close to the airport only if you are staying overnight in Lisbon and, when considering accommodation in Parque das Nações, remember that you will be in the most modern area of the city, but more than 30 minutes away by transport public in the most visited areas.
Have fun!
