You will fall in love with Melbourne, even more if you book your trip with bitbook.net.

Let's see a few of the huge amount of great places to visit in Melbourne:

Brunswick

This is the most hipster neighborhood in Melbourne. We've already talked on the blog about what to do in Newtown, a neighborhood in Sydney with the same vibe as Brunswick. Both are perfect for those who like vintage shops, thrift stores, art galleries, restaurants of all kinds and super friendly cafes, just waiting for you to sit down for a good chat.

Among the many restaurant options, we chose to visit the famous Veggie Bar, a delicious vegetarian restaurant with a varied and mouth-watering menu. I recommend!

bBrighton beach

Brighton is one of Melbourne's wealthiest neighborhoods, with gorgeous homes and the iconic bathing boxes. In all, there are 82 colorful little houses along Brighton Beach, each one with a style and painted in bright colors.

All maintain the same architectural identity, with wooden frames and zinc roofs. Without electricity or running water, they are just places to store sports equipment and summer items, when the beach is very busy and full of life.

City Laneways

Going to Melbourne means getting lost in the countless Laneways, filled with small, inviting and cozy cafes and restaurants. The food and service are so good that it's impossible not to fall in love with every corner of the city centre.

If you want an accurate tip, look for the old acquaintances of the people of Melbourne: Hardware Lane, Degraves Street and Center Place, but the center is full of good options. Another option is to take a guided tour of the laneways where you will discover the best cafes, as well as learn more about the local history!

Street Art Tour

Continuing our list of things to do in Melbourne, the street art route is worth mentioning, as the city is one of the great street art capitals of the world. In the central region, you will find a series of lanes, or little streets between the main streets, with all kinds of colors, shapes and designs. True works of art.

State Library of Victoria

The State Library of Victoria is Australia's main library and is worth a visit for the grandeur of its building.

The famous La Trobe Reading Room is the remarkable octagonal hall, designed by architect Norman G. Peebles in the early 20th century. Light predominates in the large white room with dark wood furniture, which holds over 1 million books and 600 people.

Tip: remember that in high season hotels reach almost maximum capacity. So it's nice to book your hotel in advance using BITBOOK.NET.

Flinders Station and Federation Square

The city's meeting point, Federation Square hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year. Featured in the list of the 10 best public squares in the world, there you can find a little bit of everything, including restaurants, bars and shops.

Its location is strategic, as it is next to Flinders Station (the city's main train station), close to several museums, the famous lanes and full of cafes and open-air art.

It's worth checking the website to see if there's anything special going on when you're there, so you can add an event to your list of things to do in Melbourne.

Eureka Skydeck

The largest tower in the southern hemisphere is located in Melbourne, more precisely on Southbank (south bank of the river, still in the city center) and is called Eureka Skydeck. The observation deck has a 360-degree view of the city, and looks beautiful at sunset, a time chosen by us to visit the building.

To visit the Eureka Skydeck you will have to pay a fee of around AUD 28.00 (USD 18.90) and you will be able to enjoy the view to your heart's content. The cool thing is that there are some binoculars scattered around the windows that are already pointed at the main points of the city.

Pentridge Prison

Have you ever thought about visiting an Australian prison? The truth is that you can visit Pentridge, an old jail that served as a home for several prisoners, including those who committed the most cruel crimes.

Currently, the building has undergone some renovations, including one of the prison wings has been transformed into a super cellar where collectors of special wines can buy a little space for at least USD 80,000! But don't be discouraged, they say the place is still haunted!

To get the most out of the prison experience, be sure to take the Pentridge Prison Ghost Tour where you'll walk through the prison corridors while listening to the spooky stories of the most notorious prisoners. This is an activity that fills up easily, so secure your ticket in advance.

DFO Outlet and South Wharf Promenade

Shopping is always good, right? A place worth including in your Melbourne itinerary is the DFO South Wharf outlet located in the docks area. It's not an American outlet, but it's possible to get good deals there at stores like Calvin Klein, Guess, Michael Kors, Rip Curl, and other local ones, like Cotton On, Dotti and Esprit.

After shopping, take a walk along the South Wharf Promenade and enjoy one of the cafes and restaurants on the riverbank to rest and enjoy the view.

St. kilda

One of Melbourne's most beloved city beaches, St. Kilda has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere, a great place to put on your list of things to do in Melbourne in the summer with the family. There you can practice a series of sports and outdoor activities, in addition to finding the Luna Park amusement park, and some fairs and street markets on certain days of the week.

Docklands

A stroll through Docklands will give you an excellent meal at one of the restaurants lining the bay, as well as wonderful views of the city lights. This modern region is the newest part of the city and currently also has a beautiful ferris wheel for tourists to better enjoy the views of the region.

Bothanical Gardens

The Melbourne Botanical Gardens are a haven in the midst of the big, bustling city. It's a great option for a lighter day. In addition to observing some native species, you can visit the Shrine of Remembrance and learn a little about the country's history with this monument that was dedicated to Australians who served during World War I.
