How to Travel to Thailand in 2022 with covid restrictions

International travel to Thailand is permitted for vaccinated travelers. It is necessary to comply with requirements to ensure entry is allowed

Vaccination required
From Mar 1 onwardsTravelers are required to present a valid international certificate for full vaccination against COVID-19 with the use of a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization.The final dose must have been administered at least 14 days before departure.

Test/medical certificate required
From Mar 1 onwardsProof of a negative RT-PCR test, taken within the previous 72 hours, must be provided on departure.

Testing on arrival
From Mar 1 onwardsAn RT-PCR test will be administered on arrival at the prearranged accommodation and self-isolation is required until a negative result is confirmed. If a positive result is received, travelers must follow the instructions of health officials.

Additional test requirements
From Mar 1 onwardsTravelers are required to undergo an antigen self-test on day 5 and to upload the test result on the 'MorChana' app.

Other medical measures
From Mar 1 onwardsAll passengers are subject to health screening on departure and on arrival, such as temperature checks and visual assessment. Further health testing may be required for those displaying symptoms of COVID-19.

Additional documents required

Other restrictions
From Mar 1 onwards
Travelers are required to purchase an insurance with minimum coverage of $20,000 USD covering all COVID-19 related costs. Thai nationals and residents are exempt from this requirement.
Additionally, travelers are required to show proof of payment for 1 night of accommodation at a government approved hotel, which will also include the expenses for 1 RT-PCR test on day 1, 1 antigen self-test kit on day 5, and airport transfer.
The trip to the hotel must be made by a prearranged vehicle and must be no longer than 5 hours.
Travelers are required to download the 'MorChana' app, where the antigen self-test result will be uploaded, and to set it on at all times.
