New York
Prepare your backpacks and suitcases for an unforgettable trip to New York with BitBook.net!
Art is something you can find in every corner of New York. Just look to the sides or to the sky, and everything seems to have some artistic expression. Starting with the stunning architecture of the skyscrapers, the varied gastronomy, the graffiti on the walls around the city, the bridges and even the houses that have become icons of TV series, art is something in abundance in this metropolis.
In addition to the various ways of expressing yourself on the streets, museums and galleries abound in the Big Apple. It is a plurality of artistic manifestations of all kinds and for all tastes. Particularly, what enchanted me most about museums in New York was the amount of extra activities that can be done to complement visits in intelligent and dynamic ways. Interactive exhibitions, guided tours, extracurricular courses and agendas with daily updates are just some of the many options they have available.
Don't miss the opportunity to visit this beautiful place, don't know how to go? Don't worry, go to bitbook.net and easily book all you'll need to get there and have a great time.
Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET)
The MET art collection is one of the richest and most fantastic on the planet. Here, you can appreciate and learn from African, Egyptian, Greek, European, Oriental and many other parts of the world art, over 5,000 years old. As with the Louvre, I don't recommend seeing the whole museum in one day. Choose one of the sessions to explore and, if you want, include a guided tour in your tour, as they offer several during the day, totally free. If you wish, there is an audio guide available.
The Met Breuer
Inaugurated in March 2016, the Met Breuer is an arm of the Metropolitan Museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Situated close to the Met's main building, next to Central Park, The MET Breur displays works by Picasso, Van Gogh, Mondrian, and many other renowned artists. The last floors of the museum are dedicated to unfinished works, a real dive into the creative process of countless artists. The Met Breuer also has a wonderful restaurant in the basement, the Flora Bar and Coffee, it's worth going there even for a cup of coffee!
The Met Cloisters
Another child of the Metropolitan Museum, the MET Cloisters is a special museum dedicated to the art, architecture and gardens of Medieval (Middle Ages) Europe. Deriving its name from the medieval cloisters that form the core of the building, this museum presents a harmonious and distinctive setting with over 2,000 works of art, as well as exceptional architectural elements from the Medieval West. Anyone who loves European history will love this place.
Museum of Modern Art – MoMA
New York rocks in art-related attractions and, with MoMA, it couldn't be different. This is one of the most complete modern and contemporary art museums in the world. Here you can find works by Matisse, Picasso, Dalí, Duchamp, and many other artists who made history in the art world. Get ready to stay here for an hour and a half on average, and if you want, there is an audio guide at the entrance to MoMA
MoMA PS1
MoMA PS1 is one of the oldest and largest non-profit contemporary art institutions in the United States. The cool thing about this museum is that it is located in an old school building in Queens, one of NY's districts. The experience that MoMA PS1 offers is a little different from other museums. He is like a catalyst and champion of new ideas and trends in contemporary art that seeks and values emerging artists, new genres and adventurous new works by recognized artists. It is a space for supporting and encouraging innovation in contemporary art.
Rather than housing a permanent collection, the museum more often hosts traveling exhibitions, hosting an ever-changing range of works by experimental and emerging artists.

Whitney Museum of American Art
This charming museum of contemporary American art is one of the most prestigious and dynamic in the world. There are more than 21,000 works by more than 3,000 different artists. The interesting thing there, in addition to the incredible renowned collection, is that the museum explores a lot of works by artists still alive, both in the beautiful temporary exhibitions and in the collection itself.
The Whitney is housed in a building designed by architect Renzo Piano, between the High Line and the Hudson River. The building is so unique that even if you don't like contemporary art, it's worth the visit to get to know it.
The Museum of Arts and Design
MAD, as it is affectionately called in the Big Apple, is a museum of contemporary art and design that operates in an artisanal way. The museum is well known for introducing its visitors to all facets of manufacturing and the creative processes by which materials are transformed, from traditional techniques to cutting-edge technologies.
With its rotating exhibits, MAD focuses on innovation and freedom of expression in a way that appeals to all ages.
