Best Mini Golf Parks In Orlando

Today BitBook will show you two great options to play mini golf, so prepare your passport, travel insurance, backpacks and suitcases for an unforgettable trip to Orlando.

Golf is a super popular sport in the United States. However, the “true” golf is something more elite that requires practice in large and structured golf courses and differentiated clubs. Miniature golf or minigolf courses are very common in the country, as they are accessible, easy, cheap and a lot of fun.

How to play mini golf

Basically the game consists of a course with 18 holes. Each of the holes is inside a different location with obstacles. The goal is to get the ball into the hole in as few strokes as possible, overcoming all obstacles.

Obstacles can be elevations, ramps, objects, tunnels and everything you can imagine to make the game difficult and “prevent” the player from hitting the ball in the hole.

After all players have hit the ball in the hole in the first round, all players must move on to the second round (or so-called which of the yard). And so on until you complete the 18 rounds.

As several groups play at the same time, you must wait for the group in front of you to finish that round, and then start playing in that “bed” (I still have no other better name to give it). If the previous group has not yet finished, you must wait until everyone hits the balls in the hole.

Usually there are only 4 players per group. But when there are families in a larger number of players, they usually allow everyone to stay together. I think they should only be stricter if the place is very crowded.

In all mini golf courses they deliver a leaflet for all players to mark the number of shots they took in each location. In each round, the number of strokes each player needed to hit the ball is scored. At the end, the number of shots from all rounds is added up. Whoever has the fewest points wins the game.

Mini golf Fantasia Gardens

Fantasia Gardens is one of Disney's 2 miniature golf courses. It opened in 1996 and is located next to Hollywood Studios and next to the Swan Hotel, in the Boardwalk area.

This field is inspired by the movie Fantasia, the one with dancing “hippopotamas” and “ostriches”, Merlin and sorcerer Mickey. And each bed has a character from the movie.

Fantasia Gardens is open daily from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm and the cost to attend is US$14.00 for adults and US$12.00 for children between 3 and 9 years old. Children under 3 years old do not pay. Tickets sold on site only. However, if you have a Disney hopper plus ticket, you can use it.

The best way to get there is by car and parking is free. If you want to use Disney transportation, you must go to the Swan Hotel on the Boardwalk and walk there. It's complicated, but you get there.

Address: 1205 North Epcot Resorts Boule Lake Buena Vista.

Winter Summerland Minigolf

Winter Summerland is Disney's second mini golf, opened in 1999, located next to the Blizzard Beach water park.

The course is beautiful and made up of two circuits: the summer and winter circuits, and in both it's Christmas all year round, because Santa Claus is the host.

Winter Summerland is made up of 2 courses of 18 holes each, one in summer and one in winter. And what Fantasy Gardens lacks in detail, Winter Summerland has plenty of.

As mentioned, Santa Claus is “responsible” for this mini golf, so everything refers to Christmas in the decoration.

On the summer course (Sand Course), Santa Claus is on vacation, so you can find buoys, swimming pool, surfboards, sand sculptures in the decoration and as obstacles…

In Winter Summerland the price is also US$14.00 for an adult and US$12.00 for a child for each route (summer or winter). If the person wants to do both routes on the same day or at most on the following day, there is a 25% discount on the second route. Tickets sold on site only. But if you have the “hopper plus” Disney ticket you can use it.

It is also open daily from 10 am to 11 pm. You can get there with the Disney bus that takes you to Blizzard Beach, but beware: the bus only runs during the same opening hours as the park, so if you want to go to mini golf at 7pm and the water park closed at 5pm with sure will have to find another way to get there. The same applies to the mini golf exit, so be aware.

If you prefer to go by car, which I think is much simpler, parking is free.

Address: 1548 West Buena Vista Drive Lake Buena Vista.
