Clermont

Clermont is a bucolic and quiet town located about 30 minutes from Orlando. If you're looking for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the theme parks, Clermont is an excellent choice for a day out. The city is surrounded by hills and lakes, providing stunning panoramic views. And for a view of the entire landscape, visit the Florida Citrus Tower, a 23-meter-high observation tower that offers panoramic views of the area and has an interesting history of Florida's citrus industry. The elevator goes up and costs $11 for an adult and $7 for a child.

If you enjoy wine, be sure to visit Lakeridge Winery, the largest winery in Florida, which offers free tours of the winery and tasting of wines produced there.

For a closer contact with the rural style of the region, visit one of the local farms. LunaSea Alpaca Farm is an alpaca and llama breeding farm. They offer guided tours for $20 adults and $10 children, but booking is required. Southern Hill Farm is one of the most famous and offers visitation and flower and fruit picking all year round, with a wide variety of activities. There is no entrance fee, with the exception of the autumn festival, which is the most popular, as it offers sunflower harvesting and the sale of different species of pumpkin, in addition to various activities. And the Wildflower Farm is a goat farm where you can interact and even practice yoga with the goats for prices starting at $13. Appointment is required. Any of these farms will surely delight children and adults alike.

You can also take the opportunity to stroll through the historic center, visit the local shops and try regional cuisine in one of the typical restaurants or at the Montrose Street Market, an indoor market full of food options. Highlights include Pico Bistro, which serves gourmet pastries, Poke Kai, whose name says it all, and Design Sushi, whose name also indicates that it is Japanese food.

Near the center, just a few meters walk, is Lake Minneola. Stroll through Waterfront Park which has picnic areas, playgrounds and a man-made beach.

Mount Dora

Located approximately 40 minutes from Orlando, Mount Dora is a charming and historic town that preserves Victorian architecture and offers many activities for visitors, all within easy walking distance. Park your car and start your day exploring the city, walking the tree-lined streets and enjoying the historic architecture, especially the Donnelly House, a house built in the late 19th century and the Lakeside Inn, a hotel founded in 1883 and currently the oldest hotel in operating in Florida.

Visit the unique shops and local art galleries, which offer a wide range of products and artwork. Highlight for the Mount Dora Olive Oil Company, a store specializing in olive oils. For lunch, choose one of the local restaurants offering a variety of dining options. For those who enjoy Japanese food, I recommend Wave Asian Bistro & Sushi, which has sushi in unusual formats such as pizza and hamburger.

Don't miss the opportunity to take a boat trip on Lake Dora and its canals and enjoy panoramic views of the city from the water. Head to the Lighthouse, one of Florida's only freshwater lighthouses, and watch the sun set over Lake Dora.

Cocoa Beach

Cocoa Beach is a coastal town located approximately 50 minutes from Orlando, known for its white sand beaches and the Kennedy Space Center, NASA complex. Also because it's Genius Jennie's home lol Cocoa Beach is a popular spot for water sports such as surfing and paddleboarding.

One of the city's main attractions is Cocoa Beach, which has a wide stretch of golden sand. There are many activities you can do on the beach, such as swimming, surfing, playing beach volleyball, taking a jet ski ride or just relaxing in the sun. In addition to the beach, Cocoa Beach also has many shops, restaurants and bars along Ocean Avenue, which is the main avenue in town and at the Cocoa Beach Pier. You can shop at souvenir shops or have a meal at one of the local seafood restaurants.

For those who want a more rustic and peaceful beach, Jetty Park is a good option. Despite being less popular, it has a bathroom, shower and even renting chairs, but no restaurants or any type of structure.

Sports lovers, especially surfers, can visit the biggest Ron Jon store in the world and also the statue of the great champion Kelly Slater, who was born in Cocoa Beach and much admired in the region.

A tour option for those who enjoy animals is the Brevard Zoo, which is located in the neighboring municipality of Melbourne. It is a small zoo, but with a wide variety of animals and where you can feed the giraffes. Tickets $32 for adults and $20 for children.

If you're looking for something more educational, you can visit the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, which is about a 30-minute drive from Cocoa Beach. This mix of museum and theme park is dedicated to space exploration and has many interesting exhibits about the history of NASA and the US space program.
