I just spent one beautiful one in the charming city of San Sebastian. It’s impossible not to fall for the Basque charm of San Sebastián, known locally as Donostia. Playa de la Concha

While surf lovers head to nearby Zurriola Beach, Playa de la Concha is filled with mixed crowd of locals and visitors seeking to cool off in the blue water.

The Museo de San Telmo is now the biggest museum dedicated to Basque history from prehistoric times to modernity. It was first inaugurated in 1902 and is the oldest museum in the Basque Country. San Telmo is located at the foot of the hill Urgull and exhibits more than 26,000 historical artefacts. The original part of the museum consists of a Dominican convent, dating back to the 16th century, complemented by a modern extension. The mixture of Renaissance, gothic and contemporary design creates a fascinating play of architectural styles, and the extensive collection of Basque artefacts provides an exciting insight into the region’s history.

Constructed between 1882 and 1887, the Ayuntamiento – San Sebastián’s city hall – is an architectural landmark. It stands proudly between Concha Beach and the historical quarter, alongside the marvellous Alderdi Eder Gardens. Originally home to a casino, it later became the site of battles between nationalists and republicans during the Spanish Civil War, and in the summer of 1936, armed citizens rose up against the forces of General Franco here. Bullet holes can still be found in the facade, which also features Doric columns and sculptures representing the opera, tragedy, comedy and drama. Since 1947, the grand building has hosted the city council.

Monte Iguelde

High up on the west side of town, Monte Igueldo offers a dazzling panorama over San Sebastián’s bay. To get to the top, climb into one of the wooden carriages on the antique funicular railway, which first opened in 1912. Once you’re up, gawp at the imposing El Torreón, a crenellated 16th-century tower that you can climb up for a small fee: at the top you’ll find a superlative 360 degree view and an exhibition with historic photographs. Igueldo also has an old-fashioned amusement park with rides that children will love, including bumper cars, paddle boats, huge slides, a carousel, and a log flume.

The cathedral was inaugurated in 1897 and was influenced by the style of medieval German and French churches. Today, it is home of the diocese of San Sebastián and considered one of the most significant religious buildings in the Basque Country. The organ consists of more than 10,000 whistles, making it one of the biggest in Europe. The neo-Gothic architecture shows the artistic prowess of its builders, and the tower is a popular symbol for San Sebastián. A marvellous feature, The Cross of Peaceby the Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida, can be found on the facade.

Santa Clara Island

Right in the middle of Concha Bay is Santa Clara Island, which can be accessed via ferry from May to August. The tiny island offers a small beach with great views over the city. Santa Clara tends to be isolated, but it features a small cafe and a charming lighthouse. Despite its small size, the island offers a lifeguard service, so you can safely go for a splash in the cool water. With its position between the Montes of Urgull and Igueldo, Santa Clara represents one of the most idyllic spots in the city and is perfect for a picnic.

1. Rouen Cathedrald<img src="https://cdn.bitbook.net/images/34871661779201.jpg" alt="undefined">For four years in the late 1870s, Rouen Cathedral was the tallest building in the world.
This was after the Neo-Gothic tower had been completed, replacing a Renaissance tower destroyed by lightning earlier in the century.
There are some very distinguished burials in this impressive building: namely Richard the Lionheart and early Norman rulers like Rollo and William I. Many stained glass windows made in the 1200s have survived, and there are some wonderful ones to see in the south. transept dating from the 16th century.
The cathedral's delicate west façade was the subject of some of Monet's most famous paintings: he made 30 between 1892 and 1893, capturing it in different climates and at different times of the year.

2. Big clock

One of Rouen's great medieval landmarks, the Gros Horloge is an astronomical clock with a mechanism from 1300 mounted on a Renaissance arch and corridor.
The structure is a bell tower that was erected in the 15th century to replace the wooden one destroyed during the Harelle Revolt in 1382. The clock is considered the largest mechanism of its kind still intact, and its dial dates from 1529, depicting a sun with 24 rays on a blue sky background.
Rue du Gros Horloge is one of Rouen's main shopping streets, where department stores stand alongside wonderful half-timbered houses, some of which still show damage from World War II.

3. Museum of Fine Arts

Rouen's world-class museum of fine arts was opened in 1801 when precious objects seized from churches and stately homes during the Revolution were nationalized.

Walking in the street of the medieval fortified city is incredible since you meet in the same time the modernity of a beautiful very touristic city, with amazing beaches and the authentic charm of the old house and stronghold!

A lot of people walking everywhere, that's a beautiful vity but very crowdy, you can reach this place with plane abviously but also this city is a mandatory stop for every people traveling across mediterraneen and adriatic sea with giant travel boats.
Once visited Dubrovnik we decided to cross the border and to go to Montenegro passing through the beautiful city of KOTOR, incredible view of Kotor from the Moutain above, Kotor is a very turistic city captured between mountains, seaside and cliffs

After one hour of driving you can enjoy the seaside of montenegro with nice sans or little rocky beaches, with very rich houses from people coming from all over the world, and a lot of Russian turists

After all these turistics places we decided to climb in the moutain of montenegro and to try to reach some more authentic places... and it was great... we encountered very nice people, living in a beautiful country across the moutains...
We visited Tara Canyon, known as the deepest canyon in europe, incredible view and a lot of people doing some Bungee jump from very high bridges across the canyon!

Then we spent a night after after a short trek sleeping by a lovely lake deep in the forest : very quiet, beautiful and a little bit scarry... Cerbo Jezero ( Black Lake litterally)

Chamonix Mont Blanc great city is located in Haute Savoie Departement in France close from the Italian border (Tunnel du mont Blanc) and Switzerland. It is quite famous for being just in front of Mont-Blanc Mountain, tallest mountain in Europe.

My first criterion of choice for this holiday: a stay by public transport. Chamonix is ​​easily accessible by train or car, the station is just a few minutes walk from the departure of the cable car for the Aiguille du Midi for example. A guest card is given to you by your landlord and allows you to travel for free on local trains and buses, it's very practical if your accommodation is a bit far from the center! When you visit the mer de glace you can clearly see from old pictures the difference in time on height of the Ice... it is so impressive and dramatic...

You can also make a great hike all along the arves river to visit all the great places around Chamonix, we decided to climb and reach the bottom of the "Glacier des Bossoms"... A great 4h walk from chamonix accesible with kids, with amazing panorama!

Île de Ré can also be reached from Paris by plane.
